New Toyota Avalon in-depth Walkaround

The new Toyota Avalon is classified as a midsize car by the EPA. It has a front-wheel drivetrain and is powered by a gas/electric I-4 engine with a displacement of 2.5 liters and a fuel system of port/direct injection. The engine produces 215 horsepower at 5700 RPM and 163 torque at 3600 RPM. The fuel capacity is 13.2 gallons and it has a wheelbase of 113 inches, a length of 195.9 inches, a width of 72.8 inches without mirrors, and a height of 56.5 inches. The front track width is 62.3 inches and the rear track width is 63.6 inches, with a minimum ground clearance of 5.3 inches.

It has a seating capacity of 5 passengers. The transmission is a continuous variable with sequential shift mode and the engine has an auto stop-start feature. It is also equipped with a hybrid electric motor, gas-pressurized shock absorbers, front and rear anti-roll bars, and electric power-assist speed-sensing steering.

The interior features 8-way adjustable heated/ventilated front seats with 4-way power-adjustable lumbar, bucket front seats with leatherette back material, 8-way power driver and passenger seats, 60-40 folding bench front facing heated fold forward seatback rear seat, power tilt/telescoping steering column, and gauges such as speedometer, odometer, engine coolant temp, traction battery level, power/regen, trip odometer, and a trip computer. It also has power rear windows and a heated leather/metal-look steering wheel.
