Lesibu Grand - Jennifer, My Girl
Neuvo R&B
Published on Sep 3, 2020
This song "Jennifer, My Girl" and accompanying video is about trying to comfort someone overwhelmed by troubling times. While it was written and recorded before the COVID-19 outbreak, its expression of empathy now strikes deeper than expected. Drawing on influences such as Soulquarians, Lauren Hill, Santigold, and Roy Orbison, they combine into a buoyant piece of uplifting indie-pop. With "Jennifer, My Girl," a new and much needed compassionate voice is heard. Lesibu Grand have previously been featured in American Songwriter, Creative Loafing & Audiofemme.
