Summary of this tutorial:
When working on a redesign or similar project for your site you may want to copy and paste the content on your existing site.
While you can edit a page and manually copy paste it does not mean the other elements will transfer such as featured images or other settings.
Start by installing and activating the Duplicate Post plugin.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-post/
Once activated under Settings, Duplicate Post you can customize the plugin settings to how you want them.
Go to Posts, All posts and there will be a new link to clone a post or create a new draft.
Choosing clone will create a duplicate post and will not open it in the editor.
The New Draft will duplicate the post and open the editor for you to edit it right away.
There will be the same options for pages as well.
