FIRE SAFETY VIDEO – STOP, DROP & ROLL
Today, the November Safety Training Program video has been released on the Kenner Fire Department website.
In this short video, Capt. Jorge Anchissi and Firefighter Taylor Boudreaux tell our young guest stars Bradley and Benjamin how to safely evacuate from a house that has smoke inside.
“The key messages for even our smallest residents in this training video,” says Keith Crimen, Jr., Chief of the KFD Fire Prevention Bureau, “is the proper way to react when they hear a smoke alarm or if they see fire in the home. Having an exit plan and practicing it with the family on a regular basis is a top way to help save lives.”
The video uses the Smokehouse, a small, uniquely designed set to allow kids to practice various safety techniques, including how to “Stop, Drop and Roll.” That is the national fire prevention campaign technique to put out a fire on your body. In addition, the video includes how to “Stay Low and Go,” another safety technique that should be practiced with your loved ones.
All of the currently released KFD Safety Training Program videos can be found at http://www.kenner.la.us/pages/section_104_393.asp. The December video will be posted next week about home safety during cold weather and the holidays – so stay tuned!
