Artists, Success and Money

Art and business and money, oh my! Today I want to talk about some of the most prevalent factors which make up the artist's experience with generating success, especially when you're at the point of transitioning from an amateur to professional. There are plenty of obstacles in the way which many people don't even consider or aren't aware of in the first place!

Many of these even prove true through the artist's participation simply because the culture has been shaped in such a way that doesn't exactly put them on the best path. It can be so difficult for your lay observer to distinguish between amateur and professional art, where these lines are drawn and how to address artists in the whole mix of things.

In short, I'm here not only to promote my work but also to help my fellow artists on their way. I see us as each other's allies and the more we can do to help each other, the more we can raise the entire playing field. I say we focus on doing that rather than languish in a scarcity mentality. I hope both artists and those who love us get a lot of insight out of this message.
