The Georgia Senate election was yesterday and it played the role in determining whether the Democrats or the Republicans would take control of the Senate.

Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has beat Republican David Perdue by 55,000 votes.

Additionally, as of today morning Democrat Raphael Warnock beat Kelly Loeffler by over 73,000 votes

The Georgia Senate election really determines the future of the $2,000 stimulus checks. As President Joe Biden has been saying that whatever passes now would only be a down payment for what he and his administration will pass if the Democrats were to win in the Georgia Senate election, which they did.

This is huge because this will now prevent a political gridlock from occurring. If even one of the Republican candidates won the senate election that would make the Republiacn part in majority making it very hard for the Biden administration to pass legislation.

The White house announced yesterday that a task force has been created to investigate the most recent hackings as one month ago Russian operatives hacked several US government agencies breaching the treasury department of homeland security.

President Trump made the hacking seem insignificant tweeting.
In a survey, 65% of Americans are wanting the government to issue $2,000 monthly stimulus checks during the pandemic. This was supported by Senator Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris.

The $2,000 stimulus checks have been gaining some support. 78% of Democrats and 54% of Republicans, and 60% of Independents are in favor of the $2,000 monthly stimulus checks.

Mitch McConnell however, as the Senate leader refuses to bring the $2,000 stimulus check package in its current form to the Senate floor.
Senator McConnell wants to pass a combined bill with a ton of other things that the Democrats will not want, pass, or vote on and thus he is calling for it because he knows it will not pass.

Representative Cheri Bustos fought against Mitch McConnells claims that $2,000 stimulus checks were universal cash-give-a-ways to people that didnt need it. She stated that if you give $2,000 stimulus checks to the vast majority of people that spends immediately on rent, bills, and debt that will go back into the economy and for the most part not going into peoples savings account.

Now keep in mind the stimulus checks are not effective and fails to do its job if it fails to stimulate the economy. If people are saving money, or just stashing cash under their bed this would result in the velocity of money or the circulation of money slowing down as people arent using it to drive businesses. Instead if large amounts of people used this money as savings, the economy would not grow and money would be printed out at high rates resulting in dangerous inflation.

However, congresswoman Cheri Bustos states that since most of this money is being spent it is an effective stimulator to the economy.

Many American’s still await for their state governments to release the $300/week unemployment aid. 20 states have begun issuing the payments as of yesterday. The remaining 30 states are in the process of getting their computer systems configured in order to process the payments.
